Carousel Book Card Tutorial

Well, here it is, and no wine was consumed during the making of this very LONG tutorial. I have just given the instructions for the basic card. Decorating it will be  your Job..

SUPPLIES.
#1.  4 pces CS  28cm X 14cm, folded in half.
#2. 1 pce CS 24cm x 12cm, folded in half
#3. 1 pce decorative CS 29cm X 14cm (scored at 14cm and 15cm)
#4. 8 horses die cuts, I used these here from this kit
#5. 2 X 27cm Circles white thin CS for roof and base. I used a kitchen plate to draw the circles...
#6.  1 A4 sheet acetate.
#7. 1 wooden skewer (cut in Half)
#7. decorative beads.
#8  legnth of fancy ribbon/Lace.
#9. legnth of ribbon to tie book together
#10. 8 strips of CS 1cm X 18cm

Cut out all 8 horses and using silicone or foam, attach  the 3d pieces and put aside..

take the 4 pces folded CS,  use a small glue dot in the centre of 2 pieces to keep together and then cut a oval with a Cuttlebug or craft knife.
remove the oval and attach a pce of acetate in between the two pces and glue or tape them together. Repeat two more times so there is three ovals in the middle of the book.

For the roof and floor take a circle and fold according to the picture and cut out 6 sections. Accordian fold the remaining large pieces and emboss with a CB folder..
glue one section to the front and one to the back of the top. add a small strip of glue to the top of the three inner pages and attach to the roof. Repeat for the floor..

Now for the hard part..
Take the 8 strips of CS and glue two pces together leaving about 2cm at the top with no glue.. You should now have 4 pieces of CS..
Take Half of one horse and glue about  4 to 5 cm below the point where there is no glue on the strip. Turn over and glue the corresponding half to the other side..
Now cut a 1cm slot in the middle of the the floor of each section.
Put the strip with a horse on through this slot and make sure it moves freely before attaching to the roof.. open up the two pieces at the top of the strip that were not glued together and using glue or tape attach to the roof section. Before the glue has set make sure that the horse moves freely when closing the book. and adjust if necessary.. Attach remaining horses the same...trim the bottom of all 4 strips and glue a small piece of CS to the bottom of each piece so the strip will not go up through the slot when opening..

Attach a piece or lace along the roof with glue or tape..
Take the 29cm X 14cm piece of CS and attach to the front and back of card..
Take the 24cm X 12 cm pce of CS and fold in half and attach to the back of the card to add a message.. Attach ribbon around the card and tie a bow..

Take the wooden skewer and glue a bead or beads to the end and glue inside the spine of the book...
